I am contemplating selling my current blackbook (mid-2008, 2.4GHz, intel GMA x3100) which still has 5 months of warranty to get the macbook air (ultimate version). I was wondering if I am going to be seeing some sort of upgrade from my blackbook, I am basically looking at the following criteria:
*Speed: Pretty important, I am going to mainly use it for checking e-mail, browsing the internet and CS purposes (like coding and stuff). Do not intend on using it for video editing or other resource heavy work.
*Battery Life: Biggie! I want a huge increase in battery life because my current blackbook only goes 2 hours (with watching videos at 75% brightness with wifi on), which is very disappointing.
*Graphics: I am not intent on playing games at high settings but still look forward to playing games like CS:source or TF2 at medium settings and get decent frame rates. My blackbook's GMA X3100 is pretty bad, even the original HALO causes it to chug. I also want the OS to run smoothly.
*Heat: My blackbook did not get very hot initially but the temperatures have kept going up, yesterday it hit 85 C!
*Ports: I need one ethernet, one mini-display port and 2 USB ports to remain happy, this is the only thing worrying me!
*Screen: I quite like the glossy screen of the blackbook, so I wanted to know if the macbook air screen is much better?
