Hi everyone, this is my first post here. Blackjack21 is driving me crazy, and I couldn't help myself. I don't want to come off as a sore loser, but I played this game quite a bit in the past couple weeks and built up a large bank. The first thing that disappointed me about the update was that it reset all my cash and achievements. But the biggest thing that has been bothering me has been either A) a two day run of horrible luck, -or- B) a change in difficulty.

I have been getting absolutely massacred since I updated this app. I've had an almost non-stop slew of bad beats, with the computer rarely getting less than a 19-20. It has gotten to where I've been able to predict the dealer's down card around 8 out of 10 times, although not what basic strategy would count on. The very favorable hands (for me) of the dealer's up card being a 6, or even a 5 or 4 results in a 5 or 6 almost exclusively, getting a 20-21 fairly consistently. It's only when the dealer is showing an 8, 9, or 10 facing up that I can count on the 10 or face card underneath. I wouldn't ever normally do this, but it's been happening with such regularity that it really made me question this update. I've had really bad runs of hands before, computer-wise, and at the casino, but this just feels weird.

Has anyone else noticed anything like this? Or is it just bad luck?

Yeah I noticed those 4 and 5 card draws as well. I don't want to act like I'm just trying to drive this in to bump my own thread, but playing today had no better luck, and just as a test, I decided to tally the dealer's hands.

The tally was, what the dealer's down card was, based off of what their up card was. This is absolutely a real test that I just did before this post.

When the dealer had either a 10 or face card up, the bottom card was also a 10 or face card, 9/10 times.

When the dealer had either a 5 or a 6 card up, the bottom card was a 10 or face card only 2/10 times. Of those 8 times when it was not a 10 or face card, it was almost always 5 and 5, 5 and 6, or 6 and 5, for a two card total of 10-11 7/8 times. Finally, at the end of those hands, they ended up with 21-20, 6/8 times.

Although I did this for those 20 hands, this had been an endless pattern for 3 days. The biggest question for me, is why? They're not a real online casino that is actually making money. In fact, I can only imagine less people playing this game after losing hand after hand. It seems to accomplish nothing at all, for no benefit.

If anyone else has had any experience relating to this, I'd love to hear about it.

I had a little better luck today after changing some of the settings. Shoe count was turned off and I changed the number of a decks a few times.

Ah, so it's NOT just me, then.

Generally I find if I have a hand less than 18 I will lose more often than not. Which...shouldn't happen THAT much in blackjack.

I'll fiddle with the settings and see if that fixes things, though.

Holy crap. It happens to me too. Dealer always seems to draw a 5 or a 6 to make 21 on a bust hand. I thought it was just a sick joke on the developer's part.

No sick joke, sorry.

There was no game play code changes in the last update for decks. The game builds the shoe just as you specify. So I'm investigating a larger bug, because it seems to be a common complaint, but I haven't changed anything related to shuffling.

I can say for sure, I definitely do NOT code the game to cheat in anyway. It's purely random shuffling of the # of decks you put into the shoe.

Statistically, the average winning hand in blackjack is 18 1/2.
