Blackmagic 580 eGPU and Catalina

I've heard rumours that Catalina ain't happy with external eGPUs, so I'm reluctant to update my Macbook to the newest OS, as the eGPU and Ultrafine monitor is vital for me to use on an every day basis.

Does anyone use this setup and have it working without problems?

There are some issues on Mac mini with 580 cards. There shouldn't be any issue with the MacBooks.

Operation was no different for 10.15 than on 10.14 for my ‘17 MBP TB, BM eGPU,& UF 5K.

I use an Gigabyte 580RX gaming box with my MBP 2018 works flawlessly with my set up using 10.15.2 beta 1

I´m trying to get my RX580 running with an external screen under 10.15.2 through Thunderbolt-1 or 2.
All I´ve managed til now is to get the system detect the eGPU and report it as graphics card and also the thunderbolt-to-PCIe bridge seen as a thunderbolt device. This was done with "gpu wrangler" patches for TB1/TB2 eGPUs.
Also working: Metal and OpenCL tests (i.e. Geekbench 5).

But: No matter what I try, there is no screen output to any monitor attached to the eGPU.

Any hints that lead to success here?

The Blackmagic 580 works fine with Catalina on a MBP 2018
