Blackra1n jailbreak gone wrong on brand new ATT 3GS (16GB)

Every time i power the phone off and turn it back on I have the picture of the itunes icon and the cable, the phone won't work. But if I run black rain again it works. How do i fix this?

To unlock I used blacksnow I think it was (whatever comes with the latest blackrain - there was rock, cydia and I believe black snow, 3 extra things to install automatically). The simunlock still works without any extra steps however...

Is there a way to fix this?

If not is someone working on developin a fix? What's the best way to stay informed on when that comes out?


Can I unjailbreak but keep the simunlock so I don't have this hassle everytime my battery dies?

Don't let ur battery die.....If you do have to cycle power or reboot....Just make sure the iPhone is plugged in to the PC via the USB cable.....and BlackRain is running....it's not a huge dealio....

No fix at the moment, in the future maybe.
You cant restore to original software and keep the unlock, as soon as you do it will be back to factory locked settings.
Make sure you dont restart the phone or let it die completelly when you're away from a computer.

On the contrary that is quite a hassle and a real pain in the ass for people that travel frequently, especially considered the iphones miserable battery life if you do a lot of browsing. BUt if there's no fix there's no fix.
 
If Geohot ever decides to bless the little people with an untethered jailbreak, you'll be good to go. But he's a temperamental and rather egotistical fellow, so I wouldn't count on one coming any time soon.
 
aren't there other options? somebody else working on this?

What about ziphone?

Why would you let it die on you anyway? Even if it wasn't jailbroken wouldn't you want it be on? Get a car charger if on the road, or take the charger with you if in a hotel.

quite...its not like your home is the only place you travel to that has accessible
electricity.

i think the problem is once it does die even if he charges it the jailbreak doesn't work, he has to find a PC and run blackrain again.

do you guys know you're pretty harsh to anyone that has a problem with jailbreaking? Telling him to "Get a car charger" or "its not like your home is the only place you travel to that has accessible electricity" doesn't exactly inspire confidence in the level of help someone would receive, but it is nice to see who should be added to the ignore list :D;)

yeah i know, i wasn't trying to be harsh, but with a tethered jailbreak there isn't anymore advise people here can give in relation to a solution. If making frequent charges when you are out and about is the best thing you can do you should be made aware of the reality(however sad :( )
 
i think they do that bull at the apple store now. They didnt need to plug it in at the stores before now all of a sudden they need to "activate" there first.

If you are referring to iBoot, no, that can only be flashed at the factory. They activate at the store so that they can be sure you're nice and locked into your contract before you leave the store with a subsidized phone.
