Blackra1n RC2. iTunes logo.

As you all know by now, the "new" blackra1n jailbreaking software is out ( RC2).

Those of you who had trouble installing Blackra1n on your 3Gs, can now download RC2 via blackra1ns website.

I've just bought iPhone 3Gs, 16 GB, version 3.1.2.

I tried to jailbreak it, and managed to install blackra1n, even installed Cyndia with success - no problems. So I rebooted my iphone, and the logo for connecting your iPhone to iTunes comes up, and nothing happens.

So I reconnect it, start iTunes, and update it to factory settings.

I've also tried to restart the blackra1n software and reconnect my iPhone - it just install blackra1n and gets stuck on that iTunes logo. I've done this for like 8-10 times.

Keep in mind that I have terminated iTunes, iPod Service, iTunes helper.

Please, do any of you have ANY idea what I'm doing wrong?
 
Ummmm I dont have a 3GS and I havent used blackrain so take this with a grain of salt.

Try running blackrain on your PC a SECOND TIME when your phone gets stuck.
 
I've tried that. Terminated Blackra1n, and relaunched it - still same.
Even relaunched it like 4 times - still no success.

Tried to hold the bootup button and home button same time, nothing changed - still that iTunes logo and the cable.

You say terminated. Do you mean youve killed the process, then reopened blackrain?

If you have, try not killing it and just open it a second time. If youve done these then I have no idea but im sure someone else does.
 
No first I just had it opnened, pressed the x-button and relaunched it.

Also tried just to reboot iphone.

Nothing seems to work, aah this is so frustrating.
 
I could not get blackra1n to ru on my dell xps1530 with RC2 candidate release 7100.
Using my OLD dell 5150 laptop with the same RC2 7100 load Blackra1n works just fine.

I spend hours trying to get it to work on the xps. In under 3 minutes, using the old dell; downloaded blackra1n and jailbroke 2 iphones
 
by stating that you just bought the 3GS, it leads me to believe you have the new bootrom and therefore can only use a tethered jailbreak, meaning that you need to have it connected to the computer every time you reboot it. i do not have the newer iphone so i don't know the specifics as to how a tethered jb works, but i'm sure enough googling or maybe even geohot's blog will give the details.

just an idea though.
 
That sounds logical to me. I think I've read or heard someone mentioning the new bootrom, because I bought the phone yesterday.

Is there a way to see if I've got the new bootrom?
