Hi, i tried to Jail Break my phone over the weekend... it worked fine until i restarted my phone. When i restarted my phone, i got a "plug into iTunes" logo on my phone...

I was reading on the internet that the latest version of BlackRain doesn't support the latest iPhone 3GS... is this correct, is there a way around it, thanks in advance

thanks for your help... so there is no way around it yet... can you elaborate on this... do you think there will be one out soon or have apple finally got around to stopping it

There are a few people working on it (NOT the guy who made blackra1n, I should mention), but they're naturally being quite secretive about the process so that Apple doesn't plug any potential exploits before they release. Various rumors include: "it'll come out after the tablet is released", "it'll come out after the next-generation iPhone is released", and "anyone who claims to have found a way is a liar and we're never getting an untethered jailbreak for the newer devices". There really won't be any way to know for sure until something is released.

Incidentally, blackra1n is "compatible" with the 3GS (and the 3G Touch), since it will successfully jailbreak these devices. If you'd like more information, check out this thread:

Hi, i do not want to post a new thread for this so i hope someone can help me here... is there still no way to jail break a 3.1.2 or has someone finally cracked it... thanks in advance

I have a 32gb 3GS with version 3.1.2 (7D11) and firmware 05.11.07

Is there any other information that you need?

You have the same one as me. Plug it into the computer, and run Blackra1n twice initially. Every time you want to boot up, you need to connect to a computer and run Blackra1n. I also recommend Proswitcher, Overboard, MyWi, 3G Unrestrictor, Winterboard, PkgBackup, iBlacklist, BiteSMS/iRealQuickSMS, and Icy Theme, its an awesome theme. I made it. :D

Ok thanks for the reply... but is that not called a tethered jailbreak... is there it possible to completely jailbreak it so that you do not have to connect to your computer each time your battery goes dead

It is a tethered jailbreak and it's the best you're gonna get with that phone as of right now. And it is a complete jailbreak, you can do anything with your 3GS that I can do with my 3GS (old bootrom) you just need Blackra1n or Redsn0w to restart the phone when it reboots.

Yeah, tethered Jailbreak kinda sucks...The other day I was in class and let my friend use my phone to play a game, and I was watching him, he didn't even do anything, it just went to the Apple logo, and tried to restart. The worse part was, that there was a Mac running Leopard right next to me, and I could get Blackra1n on it, but I didn't have a usb cable. And this was the first period, about 3 minutes after class started. This was art in case you were wondering.

Thanks for all the replies guys and sorry if this sounds like a strange question but do most of you guys who have the same version phone etc as me bothered with the tethered jailbreak. Do the advantages of a tethered jailbreak supersede the annoying factor of having to plug in your phone to your computer each time you reboot

I'd love to know what % of iphone enthusiasts (who have the same spec phone as myself) have a tethered jailbreak... what % would you think

My guess is most of the regulars here have the older bootrom, but as stated, pcs has new bootrom.

Some probably have 3G model.
