I have JB 3g running on Ultransnow with bb 04.26.08. daft question but do i need to use origional sim (pay as you go O2) then upgrade to 3.1.2 via itunes fist which i am guessing will re-lock phone then follow the blackrain, blacksnow process? also how do you back up the files in itunes then restore them after jailbreaking phone?

Ditto

nickafc1903, i have exactly the same question but dont seem to be able to get an answer even with every forum talking about it.
I'm on an unlocked 3g, unlocked by ultrasnow and running 3.0 firmware.
when i upgrade to 3.1.2 do i need to put in an 02 simcard and activate?
If i dont then i'll be locked out of itunes with the 'incorrect sim' message, however if i run Blackrain i wont be able to get internet for Blacksnow as i will have lost all my settings?
can someone give an idiots guide to this initial problem?
Cheers

You can update to 3.1.2 in iTunes with the current SIM card. Yes it will relock the phone, but it will keep your settings for wifi.

Then you can run Blackra1n, open the phone, run the Blackra1n app on the phone and install sn0w. Getting to sn0w requires a wifi connection.

Thanks again
