I'm running a hacked iPhone 2G with OS 3.0 build 7A341. A couple of days ago I downloaded a few different lock screen mods from cydia and one of them installed 12 blank bookmarks at the end of my springboard. I believe it did that because one of the mods installed a calander to run in the background of the springboard's GUI and it made it possible to have a blank icon page to fully view the calender. I didn't like this so I uninstalled the mod via winterboard.

I deleted the bookmarks, but now everytime I reboot or respring, the bookmarks reappear. This isn't to cumbersome, but I dislike the fact that I have a blank icon page. Any ideas on how to forever eleminate these pesky bookmarks?

You're gonna have to re-jailbreak and delete them one by one then restore.

I know its a pain in the ass it happened to me too :(

Yea, many others have had bad experiences with iBlank also. The icons are like a candle you cannot blow out !

Try this:

1) completely remove iTunes and all of its folders from your computer, especially your iPhone or iPod Touch's _backup_, otherwise the next time you sync it will just _restore_ all those blanks again.

2) delete all of the icons...I wish I knew a better way than manually deleting each one from the "wiggle board" but I don't.

3) reinstall iTunes and download your apps and music again from the iTunes store, you don't have to pay for them again just log in with your existing account credentials.

4) sync. the new backup should not have the blanks, so they won't reappear on your phone/pod.

This has got to be the worst advice I have ever seen.

Seriously? Delete Itunes (And all of your media) from your computer??

Why not just do what everyone else advised and re-JB it.

Some people should not be giving advice on here....

Because rejailbreaking doesn't work.

How about YOU think before you post, or better yet try it. I have, and I know that restore/rejailbreak does not fix this problem. I have tried this and many other solutions from fora specifically devoted to iPhone/iPod Touch for months and the only one that ever worked was what I posted.

Media and apps can be backed up separately, you do not want to be restoring your iTunes backup to the machine, because the blank icons are part of that backup.

You're right on one thing though, some people should not be giving advice, namely you.

Hey guys, had the same problem. Found the solution here:

I just went into the Webclips folder using iPhoneBrowser and deleted all subfolders, then resprang and the blank bookmarks were gone.

I then went on and deleted the latest themes I had installed, just in case... (iGreenic & Glass B&W)

how about you're wrong. you are a newbie, you dont know much about and that was horrible advice.

what the op can try is reinstalling iblank from cydia, then going into it, and hitting delete, then reboot, see if it works, then delete iblank package from cydia, or either downloading cydelete and deleting it that way.

Hi, I tried this but I just get an error saying that the file can't be deleted. Does anyone have any idea why it would be that way or another way of getting rid of them.

I wouldn't worry if it was only a few, but I've got 6 or 7 pages of them appearing every time I respring, and it slows my phone down alot so I have to delete them or put up with it being slow.

A restore wasn't the answer as I've done that and re-jailbroken many times over the past 6mths and they are still there.

Thanks for any help anyone can offer.

Nevermind, worked it out. Had to go into each individual folder and delete the files in there before could delete the folder itself. That was a pain in the ass to do 90+ times though, but thankfully they're all gone now and my phone runs properly again :-D Thanks for the tips earlier.
