Hi everyone, this is a weird problem that I hope someone might be able to help me on.
I just bought a Mini-DVI to Composite plug adapter.
Plugged it in, everything works fine. the MacBook resolution adapts and I can see the image on my TV. When I run front row everything works fine, and I can watch videos on both the monitor and TV.
The trouble comes when I try and use the MacBook with it's clamshell closed. I'll hook everything up, close the case, let it go to sleep then use my IR remote. The Mac will come up on the TV, and I'll hit menu for front row and I'll see the menu.
But the video (movie files) are now blank (black). This includes the previews of the files when browsing the items. All video files seem affected, no matter what their source. For example I had some video podcasts and they won't play either. Neither will a little video that I created on the macbook myself. They're all just black screens but the audio comes through.
I can unplug the cable, wake up the macbook and plug the cable back in with the lid open and the videos are once again viewable on both the TV and macbook.
I'm going to guess there's a setting or something I can change, but I have no idea what's creating the issue.
Any help would be much appreciated. thanks.
