Blank MMS/Picture from certain Contacts in Hangouts or SMS app?

Hey guys. Just wanted to double check with people here whether you guys get this same issue where someone sends you an image via MMS hangouts or SMS app (particularly coming from an iPhone) and its just blank. It would say. "could not load image" but there are certain people with same iPhone model and sends me a picture MMS and it works

Kind of frustrating.... Just wanted to know whether this is a Google Hangouts problem. Or a network problem or a phone problem?

It happened to me once or twice with my HTC One. Then now with my Nexus 5. I was using Google Hangouts on both devices. Different days and different senders.

I've been using Hangouts since I had my Note 3 and had it on my S4 when they enabled SMS and never had this happen.

I actually just had this happen to me yesterday for the first time in a while. I am on AT&T, Nexus 5, and was using Textra.

Weird thing is about an hour later the same person sent me another image and it came through just find. I've been finding my Nexus 5 to be more and more inconsistent lately

I know another poster here, mattopotamus, has said he's had the same problem using Hangouts, on more than one occasion.

It could be message size limitations imposed by your carrier.

Yeah? I actually thought it was maybe a Hangouts problem.. But i tried downloading another app and went back to the same thread. It was just blank as well..

I also thought it may have been the distance (stupid i know) so i proved myself wrong by asking friends from the same city to send me a photo and it came through.

It's not caused by a certain iPhone device i know that for sure.. Since she has a 5s and my friends have 5s and below as well.. So it may have been a corrupt image or file size limitation? *which is debatable..

I just switched from HTC One to Nexus 5 and so far I'm liking the features and everything.. But sometimes I feel like switching back to iOS just cause everyone I know has an iPhone, and talking to them via iMessage would be a breeze!

I have had this happen to me a number of times. I personally only had the problem using a nexus 5 on kitkat. I am on at&t and it only has been happening with people using an iphone.

Been happening to me as well - both on a Note 3 and now my Moto X. Hangouts, textra, default messaging - happens on all of them.

I also randomly miss texts completely.

Quite annoying - definitely makes me miss my iPhone.
