finally got a 7,1 w/5700x MPX + SSD7101-a1. so far I have 2x2TB saberent drives installed. Every time I attempt to boot a windows installer via USB it shows the windows flag for about 15 -20 seconds (no spinning dots), then a blank screen. Im thinking windows does not have the graphics driver. I wanted to ask if anyone else has had any trouble running the windows installer with this configuration. perhaps its my image but I use it often on a lot of computers just fine.

I have turned off everything in secure startup as well. It will boot the other NVMe with my MacOS from my 6,1. but cannot figure out the windows setup. Not using bootcamp because it won't work with external disks.

Well it’s been a while and I still can’t use windows, I installed windows using a 6,1 but it will not allow me to install the bootcamp drivers because it detects the wrong machine. I can’t install the Radeon driver because it doesn’t detect the hardware. I have found no way to force install the drivers. The only option I haven’t used is to buy a off the shelf graphics card, install it, and hopefully get display so I can install the drivers. Does anyone know if the 580x mpx will post display in windows 10? I can buy on of those near me for less than I can buy a gt1030 off the shelf.

@wickerstick if you haven't already, try to boot Windows using HDMI instead of TB on your W5700X.

I've successfully installed W10 on a U.2 SSD in USB enclosure and subsequently moved to PCIe adapter. It was a really roundabout process, but works fine (needs BootCamp, though). Not sure how useful this is for your setup, but may be good to know.

I did try this originally but I had no luck. Windows will boot fine in the 6,1 but in my 7,1 I get the windows logo and no loading progress indicator and then a blank screen. I decided to try an old backup monitor and unplug my other ones and shutdown everything and restart, maybe it was my current Dell monitors but I got display! Probably would not have attempted it without your comment though. Thank you so much!!!!
