Blank Summary Page in Itunes

Well this is making things a bit difficult. In iTunes when I have plugged in my devices the summary page where you update your software is completely blank. The other tabs are all fine just the summary page. I've reinstalled iTunes numerous times with no joy. Has anyone come across this problem - it's driving me nuts :(

I've attached an image to show you what I mean
