I have some old TIFF files that appear blank when I open them in Preview, GIMP, Safari, etc. The only programs that display them properly are GraphicConverter and Photoshop Elements (Windows). I have looked on the web for an answer, but I have not found anything that would explain this.

Do they have layers or any extra "stuff" in them? Perhaps CMYK vs. RGB?

Another stab: are they saved with any sort of compression?

No. (According to GraphicConverter, compression is 1:1.)
[doublepost=1539373826][/doublepost]I just found something; GC's ExifTool reports "Extra Samples: Unassociated Alpha" for the affected TIFF files. Could this be the cause?
