No Airs in Canada retail stores until tomorrow! Is it the same in the US? This is severely disappointing lol :p

The question is this, though: Why are they only offering the i7 solutions through their website? I'm an in-store kinda guy. A little disappointed here. I haven't had the need for a credit card, as I don't like debt (even temporary debt), so I always use my savings account card for purchases... and I always purchase in-person.

And anyways, here's a $150 question (as others have asked, but with a particular reasoning): Is there any benchmark which pits the i5 1.6GHz against the i7 1.7GHz in terms of the HD 3000 speed.

It's the same in the US. No instore purchases allowed till tomorrow. blerg.

re: The BTOs - the "ultimate" configs came to the stores about a week or two after the 2010 models came out. The same might hold true for the new models.

All other BTOs need to be done through the website - or if you're really adverse to that - why not support your local Apple Authorized Retailer? In TO places like Carbon Computing or Computer Systems Centre would be more than happy to order you a custom BTO that you can pay for with cash or your debit card.

Re: Intel HD 3000 - the turbo speed and memory usage of the GPU is the same between the i5/i7's you're looking at. So I'd expect graphics performance to be about the same.

Yikes! That's no fun!

Well at least we know the release date: Tomorrow. :p

Hmmmm... I will really have to decide:
Get the satisfaction of having a Macbook Air asap, and at $150 less... but with an i5.

Or wait for it in the mail, and at $150 more... but with an i7.

I have a feeling the i5 will be good enough... but I don't want to be a moron about a $1000+ purchase. :-(

I'm definitely getting the 128GB / 4GB model... no doubt about that.

I'm gonna get the 13" i5 Model. Called the Apple Store in Frankfurt, Germany today but the person I talked to didn't even know when they'll get Delivery. I mean this is one of only five Apple Stores here in Germany. They just have to have them tomorrow!
