You're just full of **** and talking nonsense
Actually, he’s not full of crap, at all. Try to take a step back and look at the BIG PICTURE. Not everyone uses YouTube for the same reasons. You’re looking at this with a very narrowed perception of how things should be, but it’s not always so black and white.
Yes, YouTube definitely has the right to place advertisements, no matter how much money they pull in annually. If they don’t continue to find ways to make money, after all, they’ll eventually come to a place where they’ll start losing it. On the other hand... If I’m researching or viewing videos on how to keep mice out of my shed during the Winter, wouldn’t in be wiser to show me an advertisement for a pest control service or even the ASPCA (so maybe I can think about feline adoption)? Why show me an ad for Huggies Cruisers diapers? I had my last child over 19 years ago and have had no use for those things in more years than I can remember. That’s just faulty advertising and it frustrates the consumer.
I never had any issues with watching ads at the beginning of the videos that I chose and most people would tell you the same thing, once they got used to doing it. Sometimes the ads even interested me enough to click on them and forget about what I was wanting to watch in the first place. But stopping me in the middle of what I’m viewing or listening to is the worst possible way to advertise because I have never, not even once, become interested in what was advertised. I’m so frustrated with having my experience interrupted that I bounce in my seat, just waiting to hit that skip button. And if the ad is longer than 5 seconds, I’ll go use the restroom or make a snack or something until it finishes playing. But what bothers more than anything else about these ads popping up in the middle of these videos is this: I mainly listen to YouTube in bed at night, while trying to fall asleep. I’ve had horrible Chronic Insomnia since I was 3 years old and finally, at the age of 41, I found that I could listen to Guided Meditation on the YouTube app on my iPhone. I only found one single man that I could listen to and he used no sounds in the background; he just talked me to sleep, basically. What a blessing! Horns blew, angels sang, birds flew; it was a truly religious experience for me. I was getting 5-9 hours of sleep a night, every single night and I NEVER had to lie in bed, staring off into the dark, with my mind running in a thousand different directions, for most of the night and then walk around work like a zombie the next day because I could usually fall asleep within half an hour. It has been the happiest, healthiest, most pain free couple of years of my life! At least it was... Since all my favorite hypnotherapy videos are longer than an hour, they’ve become completely useless. Oh, yes, I can still drift peacefully off to sleep, just like I have for the past couple of years, BUT I’ll also be awakened most nights, before that hour is up to a blaring, excited sounding, anything but peaceful advertisement courtesy of YouTube. And unfortunately, after writing to the therapist, I was informed that this was his first time going public and I have no other way to gain access to his videos!!!
I guess though, from your stated opinions earlier, that’s just good advertising and I have no right to complain, since the company has every right to earn money with any advertising style they choose. I hope that maybe now you can see the benefit of Smart Advertising. Because of their strategies I lost piece of mind, my much healthier lifestyle and they’re going to soon lose a customer. They’re probably also going to lose a lot of their hypnotherapists and medatationslists because having their videos interrupted by advertising makes what they do completely pointless. They're going to do themselves more harm than good and destroy a wonderful public platform, if they don’t start putting their customers before their wallets a little more often and take the time they need to make smarter and more informed advertising choices.
I was told to try YouTube Red or something along those lines because it blocks the advertisements, but I’ve heard several complaints that videos are still being interrupted and ads played. It would totally be worth the money to not be stalked by psychotic advertising!!! And I never mind supporting platforms that I use so regularly and that, until recently, give me so much in return.

Its not Google who´s suffering you blocking ads its the people who make the videos you watching.
If you really care about good content you don't block the ads.
Quick question... And I’m not being sarcastic here. I truly want to know because I’ve thought about this statement off and on for a couple of hours and can’t get it out of my head. How are the people that post the videos affected when someone blocks the ads? I’ve posted a TON of videos and I seriously doubt that I’d have a single clue if 100% of all their advertisements were blocked, unless it was chaulked up to some kind of huge cyber attack and blazed across the media. They didn’t have video advertisements before and yet YouTube continued to grow exponentially. I think, even without video ads, it would still be around and still making plenty of money; the video ad proceeds are just like gravy to Google. But if I’m missing something, I’m not always savvy about this kind of thing so please, help me to understand.
