"Blocked" incomming call

Umm I might like to point out that a lot of times those huge companies will just have there main number appear on the out going line that or some other number. For example if my dad calls me from his work phone I will get 1 of 3 different numbers on my call id. None of them being the direct line back to him.
Also the only time I have seen company block a number they general on sells people or some one running a survey. Never some one wanting legit business.
The only other time that it sometimes happen is if the person on the other end number glitches and it happens. I have seen it happen most off when it is another cell phone both well out of there local area code. For example my number had a 281 area code. Person calling me has an area code of 214 and we both are located in area code 806 is when I have seen it happen.
For those of those you dont know it is. My number is a Houston number, caller is a Dallas number and we both are in Lubbock area code.
My advice for things like that is kick it to voice mail. If it is important enough that they need to talk to you they leave a message. Other wise not important. That is my rule for a miss all. No voice mail= no call back.
When I call from my office phone it shows up on my iPhone or my fiance's iPhone as "blocked" and I am a software engineer, definitely not sales and definitely a legitimate business. It just has to do with how a company's phone structure is set up.
I have been getting a bunch of "blocked" calls lately, however they don't stay this way. For example, a friend will call (who is definitely not blocking his call) and the screen will show "blocked" for the first 1-2 rings, then it will show his name. This has been happening more often than usual lately. I wonder if "blocked" if the default caller if the iPhone can't figure out who is actually calling you.
