So, I blocked this person on my phone and I have confirm they are indeed blocked, but I am still receiving iMessages from them. I am on iOS 12 beta 5 so I am wondering if this is a bug or something? Any ideas how to get this person to be blocked for real as they are spamming me with messages? Thanks

Is your iMessage setup to receive messages on both your phone number and your e-mail address?

is it possible they are sending the message to your e-mail and not your phone number? I used to get a lot of spam in messages until I limited it to phone number only.

How do I check that to make sure? Thanks.

Settings > Messages > send & receive

Well I know how to check that lol. I was wondering how to check to see which one the person is sending the message to. Whether it is my email or my phone number. Thanks.

That is completely irrelevant. Who cares. Any message coming from a blocked number to your device, whether it is sent to your phone number or email address or whatever, should not show up.

Well it does and I am not sure why. I just updated to beta 6 today on iOS 12 so I will see if this is still and issue or not. Thanks.

If you added it to a generic contact name like "SPAM" etc, that has multiple blocked numbers or emails associated with it, you must press that contact name again to readd it as a whole to the block list so the list properly updates for the latest addition to it.

Could be sending the texts via an SMS mail relay. For example, a Verizon user, one can send an email to phonenumber@vtext.com which will show on that specific phone number's text message app/screen. Makes it real easy to just queue them up.

I know ATT had an option for turning that off for one's phone number. Guessing the other two have similar.
