why isn't there an option to just block it? I've searched all over and all I find are 18 steps about creating a contact and blah blah blah...this has to be a simple thing to do! Any suggestions...iPhone 8 iOS 11. Thanks

What email provider are you using? Generally something like that is done on the email provider side of things.

Assuming you use an Apple Mail address. Use the iCloud.com website. Go to Mail. Left bottom settings sign -> rules. Block the contacts you want.

If not. Look at the site of your provider.
