I put three strips of black electrical tape over the camera hole that faces me and people can still see me. How can that be?

I did what you told me and it's much worse now. I taped with the black electrical tape 5 inches from the top of the iPad so now half the iPad is taped. I couldn't find photo booth so I found photo something where all the photo's look like X-rays. I went to the site and they saw me right away. They're waving and blowing me kisses and if I stick out my tongue at them they do the same to me. Another problem I have with this site is my Mac mini doesn't have a camera but when I go on there with it they can see me. I know it sounds crazy so I called Apple and she went into my Mac mini and said well there's no camera. Now disconnect everything connected to your Mac except your isp. I did that and they still saw me. She said I don't know what your problem is but Apple has nothing to do with it. I called Xfinity and they said "even if we could do that we never would". So I called the website and he kept talking about my cam. Did you have permission to use your cam, etc, etc. I told him over and over again "sir I don't have a webcam". Either he didn't believe me or he was playing dumb. I don't want to be seen by these people it's very embarrassing. Soon I'm buying a new Mac mini and if the same thing happens I'm screwed. The name of the website is MFC.

There are multiple sensors on the front - you probably covered the round light sensor instead of the round camera sensor

Open the camera app. Switch to the front facing camera you want to block. Move your finger along the side of the screen until you find the camera you’d like to block.

The only camera I want to block is the one facing me. When I'm on Skype they see me thru that little tiny lens facing me right? That's the one I want to block so they can't see me but I can see them. It only happens with this one strange website. It's a very high energy website.

Your post is confusing. Is it Skype or a website? Anyway my advice stands regardless as there is one camera in the front only.

You were right. I'm not computer literate as you can tell. It was the wrong camera I was blocking. It's the outside camera as you stated. I put one piece of tape on it and now they can't see me. All the time I was blocking the inside camera the one facing me. It's a website as I stated above. I was just giving you an example of which camera I was talking about but I was wrong. Thank you so much you solved my problem.
OP is messing with us. The "high energy website" is a euphemism for adult. I suspect this thread is destined for the Wasteland.

The only reason I called it that is Apple or Safari sends me a message saying " You are on a high energy website. If you don't get off soon your computer will slow down". If you scroll up and read the paragraph I wrote I named the website and it is an adult website. No-one is messing with you.

OK, fair enough.
If you were messing with us, it was fairly creative, I give you that. :)

You turn on the front facing camera and use your finger to find the lense and cover it and now you know where to tape it. People think you’re trolling because this is a very simple task that you’re making sound very complex. Dancing around the answer to what’s being suggested.

The camera lens looks different then the sensors, it’s really not hard to find so I find this post very hard to believe

The reason I came here in the first place was to find out what this high energy message really meant. I found out here that a lot of people are now getting it and NOT because they're on an adult website because they're not. People with expensive Apple computers are getting the same message I got and they're getting pretty fed up about it. Check it out for yourself, it's on this website.
