I really like that Safari in High Sierra can actively block cross-site following, but there is one drawback. The Google Translate bar that keeps reappearing every few days. Of course, the tracking prevention prevents it from remembering that I don't want, but I don't want it at all. Is there a way somehow to completely block this bar for good?

I haven't seen a Google Translate bar in Safari – does it only show up on certain websites? You could create a custom CSS style sheet that hides the translate bar. You can choose a custom style sheet in Safari Preferences > Advanced.
