Hi there

I've been testing .mac for a couple of days now, and will not be buying it, because it's to expensive for what I'll use it.

I have also been checking out iWeb and RapidWeaver. I will be sticking with RW for now, waiting for iWeb 2.0 - what I would like to do is enable comments on my blog. With .mac and iWeb that's no problem, but as said before, i would like to use RapidWeaver and an other server.
Is there a way to do this directly on the page without having to get hostet by HaloScan.com? I just don't like the window outside of the site + the adversising.

Thanks for your help, sry for the bad english (I'm from Switzerland).

Do you have a webhost already? One option would be to install Moveable Type. It's free, not so flashy as iWeb but it's pretty versatile.

Yes, i have webhost. Moveable Type looks OK, I would prefer something free of course. I would use .Mac and iWeb, i has enough features for what I use, but .Mac is just to expensive - webhosting should be the only thing I have to pay for.
But thanks for your post.
I have been Googling for a while and haven't found what I am looking for (not for free I mean) - if only Apple would permit all iWeb features without having .Mac, that would be nice...
