I'd like some input on my blog design. Its only an image because I don't have a web host yet. It works flawlessly in IE7 and Firefox 3 beta...so I think its safe to assume it works fine in all other browsers.

To me, the font is a little hard to read especially white on black. When I hit "command+alt+ctrl+8" I could read it without getting a headache. That's just me though.

Making your name two colors make sense, but I find it kind of odd to do it to the first letter of titles. It doesn't seem consistent. But of course, that is also just an opinion. Overall I like the simplicity of it. Excessively flashy websites and blogs are not my favorite.

I also agree about the first letter being blue. I'd make those headings just all blue to give the page more color. You've got two navigation bars underneath each other, and they having the same design. I'd change the sub-navigation bar, possibly changing to background color to help reveal it's a "sub-navigation bar."

In the right-side bar the text indented really doesn't fit. For the blog entries text indenting is fine if there are two or more paragraphs, but with just one it doesn't fit either. So that'll depend on how much content you have there as to which makes more sense.

I'd try to add some more color in some places like date and the side bar. The added color can help divide up areas and make it easier to flow across the page.

Thanks for the input. I implemented the Twitter functionality just now. I also changed the colors as well.

In PHP, is there a way to just get the first item in an array...the only way that works for me is just loop through the entire array then just display the first item through array[0]. But array[0] doesn't work with object arrays I guess.

I believe you want object->item(0) if I remember correctly. I always forget the object[0] doesn't work.

First of all, well done on your design. I like it much better without the first letter in the blue. The readability is a tad bit difficult, and the blue you chose is a bit bright considering the overall blog is so dark. I wonder if you tried any other colors before you landed on that blue? I am curious about a calmer, more monotone effect, such as using a very light grey for the text in the actual blog entries? Or perhaps a dark red for your highlight color instead of the blue? I do like the overall design. It's clean lined, and not obnoxious like so many I've seen.

Good luck and good job. :)
