So, I seen a number of advertisements saying that the Apple Watch can now monitor blood glucose levels. I think this is BS, for you need a sensor that comes into contact with your blood to send the data back to your watch or phone. Am I right?

It would be the “Holy Grail” of AW sensors if it could accurately read blood sugar. There are some scam companies that says their watch can but it is in no way accurate. People’s lives depend on reading their blood sugar accurately and a device would be tested throughly before approved. It will be big news when it happens.

The ads are not from Apple. Show us where!

while we're waiting for the OP ...
I have seen ads from some Chinese products that look similar to an Apple Watch that claim they can measure glucose levels, I do know that it is false "advertisement" and have never paid attention to it.
And we do know, well at least some of us do know what Apple announces in terms of features and what they do advertise, glucose levels do not fall into anything announced nor advertised by Apple.
And as mentioned above, there are CGM tools like the Dexcom that apparently have Apple Watch apps, thus can be used to read that data but I have never seen Apple advertising those features.

Having said all that, not sure why we need a post like the original with claims but no data, but this is the internet.

I’m really looking forward to a reviewer doing a proper, hands-on test to see what’s really going on. I’m also wondering… maybe measuring blood sugar doesn’t always require a direct blood draw? Maybe some of these devices estimate blood sugar based on other bodily signals.

Until someone provides accurate data and explains the methods clearly, I’m staying on the fence. I’m not dismissing what these devices might be capable of, but I’m not taking their claims at face value either.

Beware of the claims from chinese products. The chinese do not play by the same rules as we do in Western Civilization. I know someone who ordered one of these devices and it took weeks to arrive, did not do as promised and could never get their $50 back, no reply. Only the credit card company was able to reverse the charges. The chinese pray on desperate people.

A CGM actually is mounted on and actually penetrates the skin and is in contact with the subjects blood. It transmits the sugar results to an app in the iPhone. Why would Apple advertise this when it is someone’s else’s product?

So, I dove into this very heavily, and there is no BGL monitoring on the Apple Watch, most are saying that Apple is working on this, but has not perfected this. You know as a Paramedic with 35 years of experience and education, if you are going to implement sensors and software to detect a persons BP, EKG, BGL, Pulse, etc........They need accuracy, for patients go by what they see, and then call us or they don't call us when they should have.

Here is a little information about blood glucose monitoring. As Paramedic we calibrate our glucometer on every shift. I can't tell you how many times I got to see a patient that was reported confused to be told by the family his or her BGL was normal, but when I checked it was our glucometer they had a blood sugar of 30, and so there was the issue, they were hypoglycemic. My point is people don't calibrate there machines now, what calibration is going to take place on the Apple Watch if they ever get it up and runing.

Yes, with 100% certainty Apple is not claiming BGL today and does not have it ready.

What you might be seeing is an add from an app/sensor that integrates with Apple Health perhaps.

Ok, here is what I was seeing.

That is obviously fake and Apple has never ever made the claim that the Apple Watch can monitor your BG. Hopefully people are not reacting to every fake image online and some discretion can be used.
