Are there any available yet and if not when can we epect to see them? It'd be great to make finished products that don't look only a little better than VHS.

Yeah, give it 6 months. By then the prices should be much lower. Might even be a standard by then.

give it a year. at least. then it would be a decent drop in price.

HD doesn't look any different.

I don't know what you guys are smoking, but it's a ****ing brainwash.

It's video. It looks like video. As long as it's at a good resolution, it looks good.

HD....doesn't look any different? My 42" Samsung begs to disagree with you.

Personally, I'm rooting for HDDVD in the "format war." Damn you Sony! Damn you and your 600.00 Playstation! Yay for Wii60! :D

Last time I heard, Apple was on the blu-ray commitee. So more than likely Blu-ray drives will be in Apple computers.

what is the difference between Blu-Ray and HD/DVD? Ive researched this heaps, but i couldn't find any information. All i could find was that Blu-Ray holds about 10GB per layer more than HD/DVD, and one of the companies are working on an eight layer bly-ray disc. From what ive heard, blu-ray is better than HD/DVD.

I think by fall of '07 we could have a good indicator of which format will win. Assuming a single format does win out and they both don't fail.

Scarlet Fever,
The biggest advantage HD-DVD has over Blu-ray is price. HD-DVD can be manufactured just like regular DVDs where as Blu-ray discs require a new manufacturing process. In terms of home entertainment, there's really no difference because both formats are big enough to hold movies, extras and all that jazz. In terms of computer usage obviously more space is better. The price point of Blu-ray is going to be a big factor. If Blu-ray players and movies are more expensive, why buy them when HD-DVD is cheaper and the quality is the same?

Apple? The blue Ray committe? It's can't be...It just---

You broke my heart Apple...and I'm glad you did it. If I had a thousand lives and a thousand hearts I' give em' all to ya again...to be crushed and beaten and broken. You broke my heart Apple...you broke my heart.
