Hello

Just installed Toast 11 and the Blu-ray HD plugin, now can the CD drives that I have in Mac Pro burn these ?

I assume by this that they cannot - CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW, DVD-R DL, DVD+R DL.

So what drives would be the best to replace with ?

Thanks.

I bought an LG reader/writer from OWC for less than $100.00. Using the supplied software it plays my (so far) only Blu-Ray disc on the Windows 7 partition.

For Mac I also ripped a copy with Make MKV. The MKV plays great on both my MP and MBP. Like DVD discs I prefer to rip my discs one and then view the digital version. I've still got the hardcopy to take over to a Friend's house or if something happens to the digital copy.

BTW, my one BR rip, "Ronin" looks so much better than iTunes 720P and cost me all of $10.00.

Strange, my Ronin BD doesn't look much better than the DVD (upscaled) and is actually missing extras from the DVD. A disappointing buy for me. Maybe you have a remastered version or something. Either that, or the iTunes version is really bad.

It came in a twin-pack. I also have the older widescreen/3:4 DVD. The BR even looks better than the DVD on a 15in MBP. Yet another example of me buying the same song/album/film more than once as media improves - what a racket.
