Man sometimes I wish Sony would take over Apple's manufacturing.. I mean, imagine a MBP 17" with Blu-ray, 200 gb hdd, for $3600? Hell.. I'd buy it in a flash!

Yeah, sometimes valuable details are disregarded when looking at the specs. I think we can wait just a little while longer with Blu-Ray drives in MPBs...

Just wait another 7 months (Mac Pro at least). Eventually you will even see it in the Mini in 2 to 3 years. It will be like the transition to the Superdrive.

I use my laptop on the throne (thats a toilet) and I can't "do it" in 90-minutes!
You can't rush these things.
Most accidents happen in the bathroom you know.

The price of this laptop as listed on the Canadian site is $3,999, which converts to about $3,600 U.S. Ouch! Looks like that Blu-Ray technology and all those high-end specs really boost the price of this notebook.

So, for one, it's two (2) 100GB drives, not one (1) 200GB drive.

Sounds like some of y'all are COMPLETELY discounting the notion that Blu-Ray might not win the Format War.

Also, unless the Blu-Ray drive is a burner (so you can back up your files to it), what purpose does it serve right now to have one? To play movies?

Seems to me the logical thing right now would be for Apple to wait until one format or the other (Blu-Ray or HD-DVD) looks like it's gonna win before starting to put them in every new Apple computer. Otherwise, you risk being stuck with a disc format that's not a standard...

Only if they're less than 90 minutes long.

I know that's only on battery power, but if I wanted to use it plugged in, I'd buy a PS3 instead...
