I am looking for a software that plays blu-rays.
sounds simple, right?
but I've tried a bunch of them and they're all trash. they do not work. at all.

can anyone name an app that just plays those damn blu-ray discs?

I've only used the bluray player apps for one or two discs.

"Free Mac Blu-Ray Player" did the job for me. It worked.

But I wasn't particular, and as I said, haven't used it again.

You can play Blu-ray Disc directly with VLC by choosing Menu/Open Disc. No needs for other apps. If you already have a Blu-Ray image on your drive just drag it to VLC.

When you say image, has already been decrypted?

Alright, haven't had to deal with Blu-Ray encryption for so long. Used to have a small app that decrypted it. Forgot its name. OneDVD or something.

Yes, in case of decrypted image that one can't play, use MakeMKV to help. I have played a few Blu-Ray bought from Japan directly from disc without any helps though. It play fine. Not sure what were happening there.

Edit: It's called anyDVD HD and it's still around. But MakeMKV is free though.
