depends on what you like.

i would personally shoot for blue, as silver is a bit plain (to me)

Ummm, does it matter really? Get the color you like better. I wasn't aware one color is better than another depending on your age.

If you're planning on wearing it visibly, get Silver as it would match with anything. Unless of course you wear either a ton of colors everyday, or just blue, the blue wouldn't work.

A plus on the silver is if you beat it up it doesn't look any different, it's the Aluminum's natural color.

It is not the girly blue of the 2007 iPod shuffle. I would say get the blue. I never liked silver until the latest iPod nano because the silver and black just looks cool and reminds me of the new Macs.

Sometimes a neutral color like that is best. I'd probably be boring and get the silver shuffle but if I got a nano I'd be tempted by the purple one. Just personal preference.
