So today I was booting up my MBA. It got stuck on the grey screen with the Apple logo and the little spinning thing under it. I restart a few times, tried the option + command + P + R thing, and still got the same thing. That was a few hours ago. Now, when I boot up, I get a blue screen where all i can do is move the cursor. Tried restarting again, now it shows a grey screen, then boots into windows which won't work. It says "Windows failed to load because the system registry file is missing, or corrupt". Does anybody have any idea what's going on?

if you have the install dvd, reinstall the OS...boot off that and reinstall, should fix everything

I've tried that but the installer won't appear. I was holding C while the disc was in the superdrive.

What about the boot selection screen? Does holding down the option key while you turn the machine on let you choose what OS to boot?
