quick critique... the red is too dark to contrast the dark blue background.. especially on the bottom where the date is.. speaking of which, why is the date so tinsywinsy? its practically number 2 of priority for people to find.. give it some size... - last but not least, I dont really see the sideways figures adding much to the mix.. other than a neck cramp.. it looks like if you take them away, it will give a nice deal of focus to the copy and the microphone.. keep it simple.. - if you really want to use one of those figures... try enlarging them WAY big, so that you can only see part of their face and their instrument (having the high enough resolution is gonna be questionable)- but then screen it back to like 5 percent to give a little faded texture on the background.

Thanks for your response, I truly appreciate it.

The figures on the left are part of the timeline concept that I like so much. They fit with the title of the poster, "30 years of nothing but the blues". At the bottom of the timeline is the actual date of the event. The date on the bottom is not small since the actual size of the poster is (11" X 17" )

Any more suggestions are welcome!!!!!

Like the 30 years tag line colors & the microphone. Had to search for the date. The timeline to me should go upwards and not down. After looking closely, the images of who I think is Muddy Waters & I know Bob Dylan are out of place as far as the dates go. The fonts are too skinny to me. The timeline is too straight. I don't want to sound like I don't like it at all but it just doesn't remind me of the blues. It is too modern to me and it doesn't represent the looseness that the music represents. It doesn't get me in the Mississippi Delta Blues mood. It makes me want to go to the beach in the Caribbean Islands.
