From what I gather, the Airpods won't take advantage of Bluetooth 5.0 features that the iPhone 8 will likely support since they're a Bluetooth 4.2 device?
This is a shame, but promising in that the next iteration of Airpods can be improved in various ways, ie. Increased bandwidth (HD audio), improved range & more efficient battery usage.
I'm eager to see Airpods v2, mainly for what Bluetooth 5.0 brings.
