Ever since upgrading to iOS 9 (ios9.01, .02, and even to ios9.1), Bluetooth streaming has not been working on my 2015 BMWX5.

I was hoping that the ios9.1 upgrade would've fixed these problems, but still not functioning properly.

Anyone else having issues after upgrading to ios9?

No issues streaming to multiple devices on 9.0.2 and 9.1. Did you try deleting and re-pairing?

Yes. I tried deleting the device from the vehicle (iDrive), and also from the phone then re-pairing.

Still doesn't work. The only way is to play music after opening the music app on my iPhone, at which point it starts to play through the speakers.

Please clarify what exactly the issue is. Your last comment indicates that you can stream in your vehicle.

Ok let me clarify.

When I get in my vehicle and start up the engine, the car doesn't allow me to play any music from my phone when using the iDrive interface. I cannot use the iDrive (BMW's infotainment system) to play any kind of music whatsoever. When I search for music using iDrive (going to playlists for example) it will sometimes show the playlists that I have created on my phone (I use  music and music app), but when I try and select the song to play, nothing happens.

Only when I open the music app on my phone, and select the song I want to play can I stream the music to my car. Not the other way around (cannot select and stream a song using iDrive).

Bluetooth phone calls work just fine, as does SIRI from the iDrive.

Seems to be only a Bluetooth audio problem (again---only after updating to ios9, and only unidirectional)

Have you checked with BMW if there are any software updates for the car?
