I just upgraded from an iPhone 4 to a 4S. My Bluetooth functionality has worked perfectly fine with my my iP4 and 2011 Infinity M for both the phone and audio functionality for almost a year now. My new iP4S works fine with the phone functionality but thinks that it needs to reconnect when I try to play Bluetooth audio. My car says connecting to iPhone and my phone says connected. If I turn Bluetooth off on my phone and then back on again, the phone seems to continually toggle between connected and not connected.

I connected the iPhone to the car as an audio device. I deleted all of the previous Bluetooth connections and added the phone back as the only device. Same thing. Phone works fine, Audio connection seems lost.

Anyone else having any trouble with this?

Tried it again hours later and it is working fine now. Also noticed that metadata is now being passed to the display (not album art though).

iPhone 4s Bluetooth Problem

I have had exactly the same situation in 2 cars that were working flawlessly before. Makes me wonder if Apple even checks these functions? In addition, my bluetooth Apple headset which also worked everytime out is not being recognized by phone. Anyone else have this issue as well?

When you tired hours later did youi do anything differently?

Have you unpaired your Apple BT headset from your old phone? The headset will be seen by any other devices as long as it's still paired to a phone (at least to my knowledge).

There is a way to make it forget its current pairing; I believe it should be something like holding the "on" button until a light blinks or until it shows up when you look for it from your new phone.

I'm having issues with my 4S working with my Jabra BT earpiece too.

Sometimes, when using Siri to make a call from my BT earpiece, she'll tell me she's making the call, but then the phone switches over to the iPhone's speakers and mic and I never hear anything from my BT. I only notice when I hear the faint "Hello? Hello?" coming from my iPhone.

Siri, in general, doesn't play well with my BT earpiece. Works great sometimes, other times not so much. I press and hold the button on my BT, but by the time I get the "start talking" Siri beep, it's already giving me the "you waited too long" Siri beep. Once this happens, Siri will not answer the button press from my BT earpiece at all.

Siri also misunderstands me much more often on my BT.

Had the issue in my 2010 Nissan as well, and then out of the blue one day it just started working.

My advice? Turn off your phone, turn off your car. Then turn both back on, and toggle your inputs between CD/XM to Bluetooth. Give it a few seconds and see if it connects.
