I've had my S4 for three days now. And the last two morning going to work I've had an issue with my Bluetooth streaming. Both days about twenty minutes into my commute the BT on my phone turns itself off, while streaming. The phone is being powered at the time.

Anyone else seeing this?

Thanks
David

I have a 1 hr commute to work. Stream music via BT all the way. Never had any disconnects yet with the S4.

Mine was doing the same thing and I found the answer to the problem, and while it isn't perfect, it works.

It is disconnecting because your car BT system is looking for your contact list. So this is what I did to solve the problem.

I unpaired the iPhone I know longer use. I re-paired the S4.

Now when I get in the car and the S4 connects, I immediately get a notification on the phone requesting an OK to link contacts. I then get another notification to link "Maps". Once I have clicked OK to both of those, I have to start the music manually (am using JetAudio but same thing is required on stock music player). Music streams and no disconnects.

Unfortunately, I have to go through this drill every time I get in the car. I have a 2012 Honda CR-V and their system seems to cause the problem.

Hope this helps you!

Thanks for the reply. I'll try that this evening on the way home.

Another question since both of you all are streaming audio with the S4. Does your music (or audio) cut when getting a text notification? Mine completely stops for about 3 seconds. With my iPhone the notification sound would play over the music.

Mines would seem to decrease volume just a little above mute and notification would play over. It wouldn't stop.

I notice that mine keep disconnecting randomly as well. It looks like something on the phone side. This is not actually a disconnection. The bluetooth on the phone turns OFF. I have to manually go to the settings and turn it back on. Sometimes it stays on for a couple of hours, sometimes it just turns off in 5 minutes after I toggle it on, but I have never woken up from bed seeing Bluetooth still ON.

I've rebooted the phone and checked all the running apps and doesn't look like there should be any rogue apps that turns it off. Please let me know if anyone finds a solution.

I've yet had the time to try the above fix (hopefully this evening), however, it also hadn't turned off anymore. I played around in the settings a lot and may have made a change that fixed it, I just can't remember or know which one it was.
