Bluetooth earpiece not working

I have a Plantronics Discovery Bluetooth headset and I'm trying to pair it with my iPhone but it isn't working. I have Bluetooth enabled on the iPhone and the earpiece turned on but the two devices are not seeing each other. Any possible suggestions? Thanks.

I was kind of hoping for something a bit more helpful than telling me to go out and buy another Bluetooth headset when what I currently have should work just fine. Any other suggestions?

I would appreciate some actual help here guys. Telling me to go out and buy another Bluetooth headset isn't help. I may end up doing that at some point but in the mean time I would appreciate some actual help.

find a friend or family member who has a bluetooth headset and try pairing with theirs....if it works then you may want to replace the one you have....if it does'nt then call apple. good luck.

Have you put the headset into Discoverable mode? Not sure if yours works the same as my Plantronics, but I press "Vol UP" and the answer button until the LED alternately flashes red/blue. Then the iPhone should see it. The pairing code should be "0000". If this doesn't work, Plantronics' web site has paring instructions.

My Plantronics works fine with iPhone.

But, I'll be getting an Apple headset as soon as they're available...

I now have it working. Can anyone explain the benefit of getting an Apple Bluetooth headset? Is there anything special about it that makes it worth getting?

Only info I have is what Apple has released, but it's enough for me.

It has a dock for both the iPhone and headset (and a travel adapter). It automatically pairs when it's put in the dock with the phone, and the phone shows its battery level. It's a bit smaller than the one I currently have. I like the integration with the iPhone.

I've also been looking to replace my Plantronics, because I find it a bit uncomfortable (audio quality is great, though).

Nope. The Jawbone, mentioned previously, is one of the best headsets on the market in my opinion, and is cheaper than the Apple one.

I bought a Jawbone yesterday but when I make a call it cuts out. I can hear the person on the other end but they can't hear me after a few seconds. I am taking it back tomorrow.

does iphone support auto pairing

i got my motorola h3 to work. is there anyway to auto pair so that every time i turn on my headset it will sync together? sometimes my h3 acts up sometimes about to get a jawbone. sometimes by headset doesnt work together i hear the call fines but ending and making calls dont work somtimes. i just want to know how to auto pair
