Bluetooth Headphone question

When you're using BT headphones for say music or podcasts, are they paired with the watch or the iPhone? If the latter, can you answer the phone on the headphones directl?

You can pair to either the iPhone or watch for music or phone calls through Bluetooth. If you re using the Watch for music and get a call you can answer on the headphones connected to the watch (the watch is connected to the iPhne always).

If you want to listen to music stored on the Watch, you have to pair and connect BT headphones with Watch. If you want to use the Watch to control music stored on iPhone, you need to pair/connect BT headphones to iPhone
