After upgrading to macOS Sequoia 15.0.1, my Keychron V1 Max keyboard connected via Bluetooth freezes many times daily. When I stop typing and want to continue writing or just use a shortcut (Cmd+C, Cmd+T, or any other), the keyboard stops responding. It's annoying. Even when writing this post, I need to wait to unfreeze the keyboard. If I press any key, nothing happens. I have to wait to "wake up" the keyboard.

What I tried:
- disconnect the Bluetooth device
- forget the Bluetooth device
- scan the hard drive with the First Aid in Disk Utility after booting macOS in Recovery Mode

Do you have any ideas on how to solve that issue?

I have the Keychron Q1 Max and am facing a very similar issue only after upgrading to Sequoia. If I'm not using my keyboard for about 20 seconds, I need to press a key for my keyboard to "wake up" and start registering keystrokes again. This is quite an issue when reading articles, as I end up having to spam key presses just for them to register. This was not an issue on prior macOS versions.

I believe this is an issue with Keychrons while in BT mode, as it seems to work fine when using the dongle/wired modes. I've also tested a Logitech MX Mechanical using BT, and it works fine without any issues at all.

My keyboard is on the newest firmware and BT firmware... I'll do more research and see if I can find a solution as I don't really want to downgrade back to Sonoma or plug in a dongle every time I move to my desk.

I have exactly the same problem. I use the Keychron Q1 Max with both the MBP M1 and MBP M3. On previous versions of macOS, there were no issues with the keyboard over Bluetooth, but after upgrading to Sequoia, the freezing started.

If I stop interacting with the keyboard for about 5-15 seconds, it seems to go into sleep mode.

macOS:

  • If I connect the keyboard via a cable, everything works perfectly.
  • If I connect the keyboard via 2.4 GHz wireless, everything works fine.
  • If I connect the keyboard via Bluetooth, the freezing issue always occurs. (I tried different Bluetooth channels, but the result is the same).
Windows 11:

  • Cable – everything is fine.
  • 2.4 GHz wireless – everything is fine.
  • Bluetooth – everything is fine.
I tried resetting the keyboard to factory settings and flashing it from the start. The result is the same. On Sequoia, the keyboard does not work stably over Bluetooth.

P.S. Of course, I’ve tried:

  • 'Forgetting the device' and re-pairing it with the keyboard.
  • Turning Bluetooth off and on again on macOS.
In general, I’ve performed all the basic troubleshooting steps, but unfortunately without success.

In the Console app, I tried to find any logs related to Bluetooth that would indicate a problem or device reconnection. However, I couldn’t find anything of the sort.
