Has anyone had any issues connecting Bluetooth devices on the new iPPs? I got mine all set up today, and the only thing I’m having any trouble with is pairing my Bluetooth keyboard. It was working perfectly fine with my 2018 pad, and I just paired it to my phone to type this, but it keeps timing out when trying to pair to the iPP.

Just wondering if there’s something I missed a discussion about, or maybe an update that has dealt with this issue.

Thanks!

“Has anyone had any issues connecting Bluetooth devices on the new iPPs?”

Nothing to report from extensive use of a bluetooth keyboard with my 12.9” IPP 2018. Paired fast initially, No lag and reconnects quickly when being switched on.

I do not know if this still works, or if you have this type of keyboard, but you used to be able to hold down the power button on the keyboard and when it starts flashing that it’s ready to pair keep holding the power button dow. Then, while holding it down, select the keyboard on the Bluetooth devices list on the iPad. It basically was a way to force pair. That was a couple of years ago but it may still work.

Nah that won’t work either. It’s like the Bluetooth doesn’t recognize anything - won’t even recognize my phone when Bluetooth is on right next to it.

I was just unsure if this was a common problem that may have a fix, or if I have something else going on.

The only Bluetooth devices I use with my iPad Pro are my Bose and Beats wireless headphones and they pair and work fine.

Well, joke’s on me. Fine since The update - used it a bunch - and now crappy again; like super delayed and. Sluggish with the typing. Also. Putting in rand. Where I haven’t typed them

Have you tried resetting network settings on the iPad and repairing the keyboard. If that doesn't do the trick, then there may be an issue with the Bluetooth radio on your iPad.

Another possibility is that your keyboard has gone bad. You mention that you paired it to your phone and it worked, but if the problem is intermittent, it might not have been connected to your phone long enough to fail.

I guess it could be going bad, but I’ve used it daily with no issues; seems weird it would go bad as soon as. I. Connect. It to my New. iPad

Okay I reset the network settings, and it’s working fine now. I knew it was something with the iPad because I had my daughter bring over my grandson’s keyboard last night, and it never would recognize it to pair it.

So at this point, I can assume there’s nothing wrong with my iPad, correct?

The thing that concerns me is that it worked fine yesterday morning, then was doing all that crazy, slow crap, not recognizing the keyboard, etc. I just don’t know what would cause it to just stop working that way.

If it’s okay for me to reset those network settings often, I’m fine with it, but if that means there’s an underlying issue with the iPad, I wanna deal with that.

I would expect it's ok. If you have the problem again, you might try erasing the iPad and setting up as new to see if that corrects the problem. If not, I would get it replaced. However, my money says it will be ok now
