Bluetooth keyboard doesn't reconnect when awake

Is this a known issue whereby sometimes the bluetooth keyboard doesn't reconnect with the computer when a the computer comes out of sleep?

I don't know yet if it's related to the fact that my machine is looking for a password or not and whether or not it's only going to connect the keyboard after it gets it. That would be pretty stupid since I should be able to enter the password using the keyboard.
