Bluetooth Modem App

Is or will there be an app that allows the iPhone to be used as a bluetooth modem? This would be a GREAT feature with laptops, being able to surf the web at 3G speeds. As I understand, this isn't possible by default, but is this something an app can accomplish or will I have to wait until someone hacks it?

AT&T already said they would not tether with iPhone. Other countries/carriers may offer this service.

So it looks like I will have to wait till someone hacks the firmware. Oh well, there is plenty to keep me busy until then.
