Bluetooth mouse problems with MBA M1

I'm literally going crazy trying to have a decent experience with BT mice on my MBA M1. Yesterday I decided to get a BT mouse to use with my mac - it was a Microsoft Mobile Mouse 3600. It connected perfectly fine, no delay, no connection dropouts, no anything BUT every 5 seconds or so, there will be noticeable stutter/lag/hitching with the cursor. Connected it to my Windows laptop - absolutely perfect, buttery smooth.

I was like, ok, maybe it's the mouse. Let's try other models. Returned the first one.

I bought the Logitech Pebble and the Microsoft Modern/Surface Mobile Mouse. They have the same exact problem even though they connect properly. They work just fine on Windows. I called my friend who has a MBP M1 and asked him to try with his different BT mouse (older Microsoft one) - he has the same problem.

I'm on 11.3.1. Yes, I have turned off wifi, I don't have anything connected to my Mac, I have tried safe mode. What is going on?? This seems totally unacceptable to me, - heck, I have tried these mice with my iPad and they work perfectly fine. Does anyone have any insight/possible fix?

Weird, I'm using a 6 year old Magic Mouse on my 2020 MBA M1, with no noticeable problems. Have you maybe considered an Apple mouse, or at least trying one out to see if it's any better?

No I haven't but I'm not a fan of it anyway, I have tried a few times but it's not my thing.
UPDATE: the same hitching occurs when testing the Xbox Controller.

Come to think if it though, while my mouse remains connected from across the room 10 meters away, my Bose mobile speaker occasionally drops BT connection standing right next to the laptop. The Bose is 10 years old though. Maybe there is a bug in the BT software of these new machines which Apple will hopefully get around to fixing in the next decade.

I have the same issue with a Microsoft Modern Mobile Mouse. Slight hiccup/micro-stutter every 10 seconds or so. It seems to be a thing with the M1 Macs.

I'm thinking that this is a problem with a lot of BT devices - is there any way we cand get Apple's attention on this issue?

They either already know and are (silently) working on it, or they know and don't care (since Apple's mice/trackpads are not affected).

My Magic Mouse stutters and disconnects constantly from my MBP. I've gone back to using a USB mouse. Super frustrating.

Oh just get a Logitech mouse with the little USB dongle. Oh wait. No usb A port.

I'm using a Logitech M535 with my M1 MBA, and it's been rock-solid.

Use Logitech M557 Bluetooth mouse, perfect with no stutter.
Magic mouse works smoothly too. But it is harder to use on big screen because of the dpi.

I am using Logitech MK850. While the keyboard (K850) is fine, mouse drops occassionally (M720), like 5 of so times in a day's work. They are connected to my MBP M1 thru a Unifying receiver dongle

I contacted Apple support and they were not helpful, as expected. Also, you can always replicate the stutter when you close the Settings app with the BT mouse (but probably not Magic Mouse).

I solved my Bluetooth issues by holding down Option and Shift keys while clicking on the Bluetooth icon in the menu bar. You will then see extra menu options and the 2 I clicked on were reset bluetooth module and factory reset all Bluetooth apple devices. Solved everything for me.

I do this when my bluetooth headphones start getting all shuttery sounding.
