If i decide to buy a bluetooth mouse for my Macbook, will i need to plug in the adapter that comes with the mouse or can i pair the mouse directly with the onboard bluetooth of the Macbook?

YOu won't need the adapter. I went out of my way to find one without the adapter. It works great. I got a Kensington.
