I just upgraded my MacBook Pro 13" early 2015 with the Security Update 2017-001 and the bluetooth shows as not available. I tried deleting com.apple.bluetooth.plist, resetting NVRAM and SMC and still shows as not available.

Anyone else have this issue and any ideas how to fix?

Edit: Resolved by unplugging computer and letting it sit unplugged for 30 min then restarting.

I'm having the opposite problem with the new Security Update on my 2014 Mac Mini, I can't turn Bluetooth off without using the command line. I have tried all the things you have too. No BT devices are connected. The only thing I used was a BT speaker, and I removed that from the list. I'm using a wired keyboard and mouse. The error dialog I'm getting when I try to turn it off via the menu or preference pane is "You cannot control your computer if you turn Bluetooth off at this time.".
