I have a 15" 1.25 PBook and have paired it with quite a few phones to send pics and stuff. Well, it seems that my bluetooth isn't working anymore. When I search for devices, it just won't find them (and of course, they are on discoverable). I tried with the bluetooth file exchange and the bluetooth device setup application, and it's just not finding anything.

Anyone had this problem and got a solution?

Try repairing permissions? Have you installed any hacks? (e.g. front row enabler)

I just used Onyx to repair permissions a couple of nights ago. And, I had some hacks on there, but they've been gone for quite some time.

So, I called AppleCare and they had me create a new Preferences folder. As you might know, everything turns to the default settings. No applications in the dock makes a bit of work for me. So then I go through the old preferences folder and figure that I can drag everything in there, except for the "com.apple.bluetooth.plist"....wrong! As soon as i did that, the bluetooth stopped working again. I realized that some of the "hacked" preferences are in there, but do you really think that could be the issue?

the hacks screw many things up. GET RID OF THEM. if what applecare had you do got it working again, then do what they said again and just put the apps back in the dock.
