I have an 05 BMW M3 that I hook my phones up to via bluetooth. My previous Blackberry Pearl worked fine and my Sony Ericsson before that worked fine as well.

My iPhone does not work fine, however. It doesn't have any problem connecting, but the audio gets choppy intermittently. For example, if someone calls me while I'm in the car, it usually takes 10 seconds or so for me to say 'hello, hello...' until I can hear them. Then during the call, there will be a few times when they get choppy again - it comes and goes.

Also, if I'm on a call when a text message comes in, the audio gets very choppy (or cuts out).

I'm trying to figure out if this is an issue with just my iPhone or if they all will exhibit this behavior.

Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks.

here's a thread that might help you: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/325052/

i'd recommend searching first before posting - there are a lot of early iphone adopters here who discovered problems and fixes very soon after the iphone was released... :)

Thanks for the link - I actually did a search but apparently not a very good one.

It seems turning off wifi worked for a lot of people. But then some users are stating that the first software update fixed this. My iPhone has up to date software and has this problem

I'm going to try the wi-fi workaround, although it will be kind of a pain to have to turn wi-fi on and off 6 times a day...

Hopefully Apple can address this in future updates.

Thanks again.
