I have a 2013 Mac Mini, and switched out the hard drive for a Crucial SSD drive. I also had added more memory from Crucial.

I got both bluetooth and wifi problems after that. I made sure all connections are secure, but my bluetooth is completely unreliable now, the mouse moves very slowly.

I have added the original ram back in, but the Crucial hard drive is still there. What could be causing this bluetooth issue? Can it be the hard drive? Or did something get knocked loose?

It definitely sounds like a connection problem, I would unplug it and re-seat it again. You might want to see if anything was damaged in the process (seems unlikely but you never know). Could there be any other devices interfering in the general area of the mini? Seems like from your statement it was working fine before the upgrade though.

What exactly am I looking for inside that would affect the bluetooth? The connection for the bluetooth antenna? Anyone have a picture of what it may look like/

I did it myself, I just followed a video on youtube. I know how to get down to that hard drive area and remove the fans/heat shield and whatnot.

Is the bluetooth thing something the genius bar at apple can help me with? I wonder if they'll charge me or if they can cover it under warranty.

This is the bluetooth/wireless connector:

Make sure that it is connected correctly.

Thank you, problem fixed. I opened it up, and as per that picture, I made sure the bluetooth/wifi connection was secure; it was not before.

Works perfectly again!
