I cannot get my 12" powerbook to wake unless it is plugged in. Is there a way to get it to wake on battery power? (with the lid closed)
I noticed my bt icon is on the right now next to the spotlight search. It used to be next to the airport icon I think. Also when I start it the fan goes full speed for a couple of secs.
Please help.

Okay, firstly, I have an iBook which doesn't allow you to start it up in clamshell mode (with the lid down) however, if you have a Bluetooth mouse (which I'm assuming since it says so in your title :p ) then make sure that in the System Preferences, under Bluetooth, the box titled Allow Bluetooth Devices To Wake This Computer is checked.

Next, to move icons up in the menu bar, hold down COMMAND (or APPLE) and drag them to where you want them to be.

Thirdly, the fans coming on in the first few seconds of start up is normal but if they continue to do so and you don't think they're necessary (the machine isn't very hot and you haven't been working it hard), then write back with the exact symptoms and we'll see if you need to get it fixed. :)

Well I can live with that. I figured it would be nice if I ever wanted to run a movie on a TV in battery mode. (I wouldn't have to tote the ac plug).

Thanks a lot for the help! I really appreciate that my icon is back where it is supposed to be too.

:)
