iPhone Blurred Status Bar on lock screen

I've noticed that the status bar is blurred on my lockscreen. Is this the way it's supposed to be or is a bug?

to answer your question, yes. it stays like that all the time. just the lockscreen tho.

I tried to replicate with three different wallpapers. No blur here. I’d try a different photo and see if it’s still there. If not, it’s the pic. If so, you’ve got a bug.

I didn't notice it until I changed the wallpaper. So I'm thinking that's it. But why would the picture cause the blur?

Had this issue throughout the beta period and saw it just yesterday on my iPad. Restarting got rid of it. Definitely still a few bugs in iOS 11

It is only suppose to blur when scrolling lots of notifications.

I actually tried that and it worked.
