Hi,

I know my way around Dreamweaver and HTML, but clueless when it comes to database related topics such as PHP, Coldfusion, ASP, etc.

I tried to learn PHP using some books but have not had success.

Do you guys have any recommendation for good book on learning PHP and MySQL on Mac?

Thanks in advance.

Covers everything you need to get up and running. My copy's completely beat up, I use it at least a couple times a month still. Great reference. You can go chapter by chapter, but it's pretty well laid out to use as a point reference as you need it. It's the one book that gets more use than any other in my library.

It's not mac specific, but then again, PHP and MySQL are pretty platform agnostic. As long as you know how to get PHP and MySQL running on your mac, you'll be fine. Plenty of tutorials on how to do that for various OSX versions, just Google it.

I also frequent www.php.net if I need additional clarification. They also have some good code examples from time to time from users.

This it the book I learned with. It tells you how to set up and install PHP and MySQL on your Mac in the appendix. Also tells you how to on Linux and Windows should you need it. Great book. Also, I second checking out php.net.
