iOS Book suggestions

hello community!

I just started programming with XCode and the SDK today, and realized that I should probably buy a book.

So, please tell me which development books you would recommend, not just for the beginner though. Because I don't want to by 60 books because one doesn't tell me the whole story.

Oh and as you may have already assumed, (from the section placing) I would like the books to be about the iPhone programming, not Mac application programming.

Programming in Objective-C 2.0 by Stephen G.Kochan

this book is great, in don't assume you got any background in C programming. It teaches simple iPhone SDK.

for xCode I recommend:Xcode 3 Unleashed

for iPhone SDK: Beginning iPhone 3 Development: Exploring the iPhone SDK

I don't really think you need a book for xCode it's really simple and self explained unless your going to do complex things

Another skill you'll find useful as a developer is the ability to search for and read previously published information (documentation, forums, etc.) You'll find that this topic has been done too death here, as recently as this thread. Sorry if that comes off too harsh.

agree with you, one of the key things about programming in looking around all day in documentation, googling etc...

but for some reason I don't get bothered when people are too lazy to look around

I second that.

The Objective-C one was awesome to get me started.

Since I make games, the second one was less useful (more interface builder than anything), but I still use things I learned in it like file saving, etc...
